Exlar is an electric actuator company based in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN. Our business spans many markets, including motion control applications and process control.
Exlar is unique to the valve control market through our way of converting the rotary motion of an electric servo motor into a linear force using an inverted roller screw. Exlar actuators have been used for years from extreme military applications to high cycle food packaging applications. Using the technology for valve control provides extreme precision, fast response in a very robust package. Available in both linear and rotary versions, Exlar actuators can be mounted on any valve from any manufacturer.
Our linear product line spans from 0 to 100,000 lbs, strokes from 0-96 inches and speed up to 40 inches a second. Rotary actuators span torques from 0 to 3000lbf-in. We carry several hazardous certifications including CSA and ATEX explosion proof.
We are very well known to the turbine industry, where we have been used to replace the hydraulics on the main speed governor valve. Other industries include Oil and Gas (upstream downstream and pipelines), Pulp and Paper, Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Power Utilities.
