Wave Control Systems Ltd. (WCS) is an Edmonton based company specializing in automated chemical injection and monitoring systems. WCS) provides fluid-handling equipment, instrumentation, and environmental controls to energy, water treatment, and industrial users.
Products and Services
Current offerings include the following components and systems:
• Chemical feed equipment and packages and technical support all custom designed to meet specific needs of the energy sector.
• The Uninterruptible Chemical Supply system (UCS) is a unique product (U.S. patent, Canadian patent pending) that provides continuous monitoring of chemical feed equipment. The UCS helps to ensure that a chemical is injected consistently, and contributes to an efficient operating process. It provides accurate chemical feed monitoring, thus reducing the environmental impact of the over- or underfeeding of chemicals.
• The Flow Switch, a newly invented product that uses a pressure transmitter to sense pulses from positive displacement metering pumps, monitors low and stop-flow conditions. The Flow Switch can alert the control room of stop-flow instantly, thereby reducing the operator’s response time and improving efficiency.
• The Enhanced Polymer Injection System is a new product. It tackles the difficulties involved in pumping chemicals (highly viscous, very low flow, shear-sensitive) with traditional pumps, and in activating and blending polymers and other chemicals in the oil sands and other large industrial plants. This system will decrease the facility operator’s expenditure on labour costs, improve the facility’s operating efficiency, and reduce chemical injection part clogging, thereby further reducing environmental footprints.
